| Developed in 1994 the Sapira name is derived from an original concept to create a systematic approach and methodology for identifying and managing non conformance. Today the process and our software the Dynamic Aspect Register or DAR for short, which is the glue which holds together any Sapira project, is being used to manage a whole host of different management tasks. These tasks all have a common theme of, Sustainability, Compliance and Risk Management and the step-by-step Sapira approach of Survey, Assess, Plan, Implement Review and Audit highlights our basic project framework and is the basis of our name today. Business Continuity Management is about a preventative approach rather than starting from a disaster recovery point of view. With recent developments such as the new British Standard BS 25999-2, the need for a project tool which binds together all business elements makes the DAR all the more relevant. The management of Risk, DR, Facilities, Supply Chain, Quality, Health and Safety, Knowledge, Emergency, Security, Crisis Communications and PR all sit together under the Business Continuity Management umbrella. This does not imply that BCM is the senior discipline but it is a means of co-ordinating these disparate activities. From our experiences many organisations fail to look below DR level. Preparation and planning excludes Events and Incidents, all of which have a higher potential frequency and have the potential to become Disasters if not handled properly. The Sapira Process delves below Disaster Recovery and ensures that both management system conformance is addressed and legislative compliance is given adequate attention. The system and process also ensure that a company moves to a position of continuity and sustainability rather than accepting that the fallback position is one of disaster recovery. From its early inception one of our greatest strengths has been our network partners. From very humble beginnings the Sapira Network has grown to include companies world wide who co-operate in a strategic alliance to provide their products and services to our clients. Strengths and Key Features The Sapira Network is somewhat unique in its approach, unlike a trade association, the membership comprises independent companies who bring a specialist knowledge, product or service in their field to our clients. Our members are carefully selected, usually by recommendation of an existing member or as a result of identified business excellence. We also have many associates, usually independent consultants, who again bring a particular expertise or skill to a particular project that we are managing. To ensure a coordinated and controlled methodology to any project all members who take part in a client project use the Sapira project management tool, the Dynamic Aspect Register or DAR. This secure management tool is used to record our findings, communicate with our clients and as a result help you to build due diligence and demonstrate your duty of care. |
