Meet the Sapira Implementation Team



Mark East, Managing Partner.
Mark is the Managing Partner of Sapira LLP and a Senior Partner in CARM LLP. Sapira is an International Project Management Consultancy and the licensing company of the Sapira business risk management process and software. A scientist with broad General Management experience, he is able to combine his personal business experiences with excellent communication, team management and training skills.
As well as an experienced and successful Managing Director of both large and small companies for over twenty years Mark brings weight and experience to any management project. As well as General Management he has specialised in the field of Risk Management and Business Continuity since the early 90’s. He personally steered a company through the aftermath of a significant business interruption (a fire in 1991) as its Managing Director and many of the experiences learned during and since this event are embodied within the Sapira management system. His business activities take him across the world where the Sapira system, is licensed. As the Managing Partner of Sapira LLP he is still a hands on practitioner and, with his international experience, brings a tremendous amount of depth and breadth to any project. In recent years working with Lee Weavers they have together developed HBCM the Holistic Business Continuity Management System. Many of the key elements of the HBCM system use the principles and process developed by Mark in the Sapira system.

Lee Weavers Senior HBCM and Risk Management Consultant 
Lee has extensive experience at executive and management level. He is the Managing Director of Leema Risk Management Ltd and the other Senior Partner in CARM LLP, who, with Sapira form the CARM family. Since 2000, he has worked in the private sector and been responsible for delivery of key change and risk management programmes to clients in the UK and Internationally. He has successfully led a raft of projects around the world and has particular expertise in safety, security and risk management. Lee previously held a number of senior operational positions in the police service. He retired in 2000 after a protracted period as the A/Assistant Chief Constable Operations and Head of CID in Essex.
During his career he led various major operations and serious & serial crime investigations; his experience in practical ‘crisis management’ is second to none.
He has previously engaged in full time academic study to Masters Level and is currently taking a diploma in risk management.
He is a member of the Institute of Directors and energetic Managing Director of Leema Risk Management Ltd, Viking Mariners Ltd and is a partner with Mark East in Continuity and Resilience Management LLP with Mark East through which they manage HBCM products.
 


Phil Heath Senior Standards Specialist and Integrated Management Systems Consultant
Phil is a respected expert in the standards industry. After working for over ten years with BSI in the UK, Phil was instrumental in creating the ServiceMark UK national customer service standard.ICS ServiceMark.
Phil has worked with Mark since the 1996 and together they have developed the Sapira:IMS methodology for Integrated Management Systems. His knowledge and experience can help your organisation achieve the registrations necessary to pitch for large contracts and public sector work and genuinely improve both business processes and customer service. Chris De Jong - Corporate Strategy and Linguist
Chris has had 20 years business experience with ICI and Armstrong World Industries, operating in pan-European and multi-cultural environments in roles which included Marketing Manager, General Manager and Regional Director.
 
A British national, he has significant international business experience, having lived in The Netherlands, France and Belgium for several years before returning to the UK. He is fluent in Dutch, French and German which means that he plays a very important part in our international team. Chris has worked with the Sapira management system for many years and has a wide experience in Integrated Management.
 
He moves easily and communicates effectively across all levels and functions in corporations and is widely respected for his talents in facilitating strategic change and delivery – especially in multi-cultural contexts.

Mark Ryland - Integrated Management Systems and Quality Management Systems Specialist
A qualified Lead Auditor, with a wide experience in the Implementation and Management of Quality Assurance Systems complying with ISO 9000, ISO 14001, ISO 22000, BRC, AIC TASCC, UFAS, FEMAS and FIAS requirements. Mark has been implementing and managing quality systems within the food and agricultural supplies industries for many years. He is a member of the Agricultural Industries Confederation Trade Assurance and Transport Groups and a member of the British Standards Institute Associate Consultants Programme (ACP). Mark has also gained experience in implementing Quality Management Systems into companies with multiple business units, and brings a depth of experience to Sapira's Implementation and Integration Team.
